What is AerScout?

AerScout is a field-planning app for landscape, seascape, and night-sky photographers. It translates astronomy, weather, marine, and location data into practical photographic outlooks.

Why does AerScout request my location?

Your location lets AerScout provide relevant sun, moon, weather, tide, wave, and map information. You can instead choose or enter a location manually. Permission can be changed at any time in device settings.

Why does a forecast differ from the conditions I see?

Forecasts are estimates and can change quickly, especially near coasts and mountains. Check the issue time and location, refresh the forecast, and use local observations and official safety guidance before entering the field.

How do I improve tide windows for a beach?

Open the saved location and add local-knowledge thresholds for tide behavior and wave height. This helps AerScout interpret forecast data for that specific shoreline.

How do I create an alert?

Choose a saved location, select the condition you care about, set its rule or threshold, and enable notifications. Your device must allow AerScout notifications.

Can I import existing locations?

Yes. AerScout supports KML import so you can bring locations from compatible mapping and planning workflows.

How do I report a bug?

Email support with the steps that led to the issue, what you expected, what happened instead, and screenshots if useful. Do not include passwords or other sensitive information.

How do I delete my data?

Delete saved content using the controls in AerScout. Uninstalling removes data stored locally by the app. For support records or other account-related requests, email support with the subject “Data deletion request.”
